The MC74HC245A is identical in pinout to the LS245. The device inputs are compatible with standard CMOS outputs; with pull−up resistors, they are compatible with LSTTL outputs. The HC245A is a 3−state noninverting transceiver that is used for 2−way asynchronous communication between data buses. The device has an active−low Output Enable pin, which is used to place the I/O ports into high−impedance states. The Direction control determines whether data flows from A to B or from B to A.

The RAM's working register area in data memory bank 0 is further divided into four register banks. Each register bank has eight 4-bit registers that are addressable either by 1-bit or 4-bit instructions. Paired 4-bit registers can be addressed as double registers by 8-bit instructions. Register A is the 4-bit accumulator and double register EA is the 8-bit extended accumulator. Double registers WX, WL, and HL are used as data pointers for indirect addressing. Unused working registers can be used as general-purpose memory. To limit the possibility of data corruption due to incorrect register bank addressing, register bank 0 is usually used by the main program and banks 1, 2, and 3 for interrupt service routines.

6. TUNE/SEEK/ATP (AUTO TUNING PRESET) CONTROL This button performs two functions: Auto Tuning Preset Scan and Auto Tuning Preset Memory. This function allows you to locate and store up to six stations in the selected band automatically. Select the desired band, then rotate the knob counterclockwise to select a station on a lower frequency or clockwise to select a station on a higher frequency. Hold the knob in either position for more than 0.5 seconds to begin automatic scanning. The tuner will locate and stop at the next receivable station. Auto Memory Scan Function Use this function to check the stations stored in memory. Press the ATP button to select the preset stations for five seconds each, beginning with the current station, Either press the ATP button again or press one of the preset buttons (1-6) to stop scanning. During the preset scan operation, the preset number flashes on the display.
