The RF AGC in the ZL10037 is divided into two stages. The first stage is a continually variable gain control stage, and provides the main system AGC set under control of the analogue AGC signal generated by the demodulator section. The second stage is a programmable gain stage to reduce RF gain by 10 dB. This would normally be used when an external LNA is being used to improve system sensitivity.

The VP21119 architecture is illustrated in Figure. Twelve dedicated inputs and ten I/Os provide up to 22 inputs and ten outputs for creation of logic functions. At the core of the device is a programmable electrically-erasable AND array which drives a fixed-OR array. With this structure, the VP21119 can implement up to ten sum-of-products logic expressions.
Features
The VP21119 is a general-purpose single channel PCM CODEC with pin-selectable µ-Law or A-Law companding. The device is compliant with the ITU G.712 specification. It operates off of a single +5V power supply and is available in 20-pin PDIP, SOG, SSOP, and TSSOP package options. Functions performed include digitization and reconstruction of voice signals, and band limiting and smoothing filters required for PCM systems. The filters are compliant with ITU G.712 specification. VP21119 performance is specified over the industrial temperature range of C40C to +85C.
